Wedgek Sharpening Angle Guides - Model AGM

$10.99

These are one of the simplest yet effective tools for leveling up your knife sharpening skills. In my experience, the vast majority of people sharpening their own knives don’t truly know the angle at which they are sharpening the secondary bevels. These guides take the guesswork out of sharpening, and ensure that you’re building the muscle memory for the sharpening angle that you want. This set includes angle guides from 10 to 20 degrees, which is perfect for most knife applications. You can even combine these guides to get steeper sharpening angles, for something like a cleaver that requires a more blunt edge.

I regularly use these guides in my YouTube videos on knife making. Check it out here for detailed instructions on sharpening your knives at home.

A good starting point for which angle guide to use is 14 degrees for a chef knife, and 20 degrees for an every day carry or bushcraft knife. Ultimately, it’s all about personal preference in how you want your knife to perform, and the edge geometry that it has, so experiment with what works best for you!

Pro Tip: Apply a layer of tape to your knife where it will contact the angle guide to prevent metal debris from scratching the surface of your blade!

  • Model: Wedgek AGM Medium size. For larger size model Wedgek LR5 is available.

  • Guides from 10 to 20 degrees. Up to 39 degrees when two guides tied together.

  • Guide doesn't move with the knife. Set sharpening angle before each stroke. Steady hands are required to hold knife at the set angle. Please visit Wedgek dot com for Tutorial. See Angle Calculator at Tutorial to find the correct angle.
